Sample questions that Vaastu helps to answer are:

  • What direction should my door be facing?

  • What direction should I be sleeping in?

  • Should the direction of my employee’s desk be changed to improve their productivity?

  • Where is the hot and cool zone in my house or office?

  • What are the doshas (impurities) in my home and me?

Vaastu Shastra is an ancient art and science, containing principles and practices of constructing buildings and interiors which ensure a harmonious balance between man and nature and thereby bring all round happiness, health, wealth and prosperity. Vaastu is considered to be the sister therapy of Yoga and Ayurveda and is a key contributor according to Indian Vedic science to improving lifestyle.

One way of explaining Vaastu as a science is to recognize the Earth as a large magnet. Science tells us that in a magnet, there is a North and South Pole. Magnets are attracted to each other, but only on opposite poles i.e. The north pole of one magnet is attracted to the south pole of the other magnet. If you tried to put two north poles together, the two magnets would repel each other. Because of the atoms in our bodies, we too have a North Pole and South Pole. Our head acts as our north and feet act as our south. Now if we slept in the north-south direction, the electromagnetic force of the earth’s north pole would repel the electromagnetic force from our head. This would lead to lack of sleep and eventually a very unproductive workday. However, if we were to sleep the other way, our bodies would not have to struggle with natural forces to rest which leads to a healthier day.

Please take our online test to determine how Vaastu can improve your life.

  • Space is northeast and is related to the sense of hearing.

  • Air is northwest and is related to the sense of touch.

  • Fire is southeast and is related to the sense of sight.

  • Water shares Air’s direction (north-west) and is related to the sense of taste.

  • Earth is southwest and is related to the sense of smell.

These five elements are also related to Chakra Yoga and are recognized by this form of exercise. We can use these directions with the knowledge of science to enhance your lifestyle and health.

In order to balance the doshas and keep positive energy flowing into the home, you must use the five elements that are found not only in our bodies, but on earth as well. These five elements are: Space, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth. All five elements are associated with a direction and sensation.

The reason we have asked you to complete the online test is to discover what your Doshas are. You must be asking, “What is a Dosha?” According to the ancient Ayurvedic science, Doshas determine our emotions, energy levels, diet, body type and health. There are seven different body types but only three predominate society. These three types of Doshas are: Vata (Air), Pitta (Fire), and Kapha (Water). The remaining four Doshas are a combination of these three. Below is a definition of each Dosha. Allowing us to understand why you are the way you are.will help in determining how we can help you achieve a healthy and happy lifestyle.

VATA (AIR) DOSHA:

Vata controls all the movement in the body including blood circulation, respiration, nerve impulses, muscle contractions, etc. Hence the meaning of Vata is air or wind. Vata individuals are more likely to fidget, toss during their sleep, crack their knuckles and get butterflies in their stomach when they are nervous. These individuals will more likely benefit from simple foods and should adapt a very regular daily routine to reduce stress.

PITTA (FIRE) DOSHA:

Just as the Sun regulates the earth’s temperature, pitta regulates the body’s temperature. In other words, pitta manages the body’s metabolism ie. Burns our food to give us energy. Enlightenment and intelligibility are symbols that reflect within pitta people. However, having too much pitta increases the body temperature leading these individuals to be more likely to run a high fever and are at risk of getting skin disorders and acidity problems. Also related to fire, they tend to lose control of their temper easily.

KAPHA (WATER) DOSHA:

Kapha acts as the lubrication of the body and is related to coldness, heaviness and density. Kapha has many functions in our bodies like the fluid in our cell membranes, the moisture in our skin, to the digestive juices in our stomach. Kapha individuals are more likely to carry this weight of water with them and naturally have a few extra pounds. They tend to move slowly, and are calm and forgiving. These individuals may not absorb information quickly, but once it is absorbed, it’s easily retained. In retrospect, having too much kapha in your life can lead to sinus problems, obesity, and respiratory problems.

As said before, the remaining four doshas are a combination of these three and the majority of people in this world have slight combinations of these three. Now that you know what your dosha is, there is a need to balance it so that it is not over-stimulated, which can lead to health problems. All three of these doshas oscillate in the home and dominate different directions in a north-south-east-west quadrant.

In order to balance the doshas and keep positive energy flowing into the home, you must use the five elements that are found not only in our bodies, but on earth as well. These five elements are: Space, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth. All five elements are associated with a direction and sensation.
One way of explaining Vaastu as a science is to start off by explaining how Earth came to exist. According to scientific research and evidence, the earth was once a ball of fire millions of years ago. As it slowly cooled, the earth’s atoms became more and more attracted to one another through self-magnetism. Because of this, eventually the earth became a large magnetic force in the universe. Each region or space on earth has this magnetic energy as well. And as you change your space, and no matter how large or small you make it, there will always be this magnetic force.

Science has also proven that our brain is highly sensitive to orientation, position, and direction in space. Neuroscience research has shown that neurons from the thalamus of the brain are affected by the direction one is facing. Research has also shown us that individuals that live in a home where the entrance faces south tend to have a higher incidence of health related problems and also have more financial difficulties in comparison to those families with a home facing north or east.

There is so much evidence to support this science and there are many different ways to rectify an existing home using our techniques so that you can have a healthy and wealthy lifestyle.
